During the Oct. 11, 2022, Adams 14 Board of Education meeting, board members approved a proclamation for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which is celebrated on the second Monday of October.
The district celebrates this national holiday as part of its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to recognize the resilience and contributions of Indigenous peoples to American society throughout history, even as they faced assimilation, discrimination, and genocide.
