New recommendations for mask wearing in response to the rapidly spreading Delta variant were released on July 27, 2021, and have continued to evolve. Team Adams 14 will commit to maintaining COVID-19 health and safety protocols that align with guidance from state and local health agencies, including the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Tri-County Health Department (TCHD), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Based on this guidance, and in collaboration with school leadership and the SD14 Classroom Teachers’ Association, we have created a COVID-19 Response Dial and protocol that takes into consideration the community COVID-19 vaccination rate, the Adams 14 employee and student COVID-19 vaccination rate, and our community COVID-19 transmission rate. The Adams 14 COVID-19 Response Dial and protocol will vary based on the aforementioned data, and our response will be clearly articulated in a Green Zone,Yellow Zone, and Red Zone.
The district will distribute a weekly message to the community, which will include upcoming events, district news and highlights, as well as a weekly update on the Adams 14 COVID-19 Response Dial – letting families know which zone we are based on health data.
The weekly updates to the COVID-19 Response Dial will also live on the Adams 14 COVID-19 webpage, and color zones will be prominently displayed in each school’s front doors to inform parents and guardians.
Based on current health data, Adams 14 is in theYellow Zone, which means that face coverings will be required of all students and staff while learning indoors.
*Note: Student athletes in grades 6-12 will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR be tested for COVID-19 every two weeks while participating in a sport regardless of the “zone.”
