Adams 14 COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is highly transmissible. Everyone should take steps to minimize transmission by wearing a high-quality, well-fitted mask over the nose and mouth, washing their hands frequently, and staying home if there are any new symptoms of COVID-19. Vaccinations and booster shots remain an effective way to protect yourself and others. COVID-19 vaccinations are free and available at many community health partners such as Kids First Health Care and Salud Family Health Centers, as well as at many pharmacies.

Free serial testing is available to all students and staff. Serial testing helps detect asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic individuals. This early detection helps reduce transmission by sending the individual home early, before illness is spread. Please see the COVID-19 testing in Adams 14 website for the current schedule.

Student Process

Families of a student who has tested positive, is waiting on the results of a test due to exposure, or is in quarantine due to exposure should call the health clerk, the attendance liaison, or the front office.

  • If possible, send proof of the positive test to the health clerk.
  • Please provide date of symptom onset, brief description of the symptoms (for example: cough, headache, and congestion), and vaccination status. Please include whether or not the student has received a booster shot.
  • If the student is asymptomatic, please provide the date the test was administered.
  • The COVID-19 response team will provide notification of return date.
  • A negative test is not required to return to school.

Staff Process

Any staff member who has tested positive, is waiting on the results of a test due to exposure, or is in quarantine due to exposure should notify their department or building leader. The leader will share the information with the Covid Response team.

  • Be prepared to share verification of the positive test.
  • Please provide date of symptom onset, brief description of the symptoms (for example: cough, headache, and congestion), and vaccination status. Please include whether or not the individual is boosted.
  • If the staff member is asymptomatic, please provide the date the positive result was received.
  • The COVID-19 response team will provide notification of return date.
  • A negative test is not required to return to work.
