Student conduct regarding social media

social media apps

Dear Adams 14 Parents and Guardians,

Across the country there have been posts on social media platforms, such as TikTok, that incite school violence or provoke inappropriate student behaviors. The district has been vigilant in monitoring these posts and are working with school resource officers and law enforcement to identify any safety concerns.

While the district has taken steps to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and teachers, we strongly encourage parents and guardians to have conversations with their child(ren) about the seriousness of these types of social media posts and engaging in acts of violence or inappropriate behaviors. Any acts of violence or inappropriate behaviors to others or school property is unacceptable and those students participating in disruptive or destructive activities will be held accountable and face consequences.

We appreciate our students who have reported these social media posts to school administration or through Safe2Tell, as well as our continued partnership with our parents and guardians, who all help to keep our schools safe.

Thank you,
Adams 14
